Hey guys
I kegged and primed my first brew and left it at room temperature for 7 days, I moved it into cold conditions a couple of days ago. Now when I first kegged it I was worried I'd not tightened the pressure valve in the barrel cap properly (I posted on here and was told it should be fine).is it too soon to draw a glass off to test it for carbonation? Could it ruin my brew by doing this?
 Paul

You've got a bad case of first brew curiosity.
Leave it if you can, and get on with another brew!! :thumb:
It'll be ok but it'll be better if you can leave it at least another week.
The general rule of thumb on here is 2-2-2.
2 weeks in primary 2 weeks in secondary and 2 weeks conditioning.
Coopers reckon you can drink in three weeks so it must be drinkable it just won't be as good as given the extra time.
To get me over my curiosity I bought a couple more kits and buckets and put some more brew on, idle hands and all that!!!
What did you brew?

If you can resist your a better man than me ,atb wayne

Thanks for replying guys
It's a wherry and like I said when I kegged it I only hand tightened the pressure valve in the barrel cap so been fretting about it being flat!typical beginners worries I imagine :?
I have started another kit,a better brew ipa it's in the fv now and smells fantastic!Should be ready to keg next Monday

If it was up to me I'd buy more equipment for more brews because there's so many kits I want to do! ! Looking at doing the festival golden stag summer ale next but got 2 young kids and like my holidays abroad so can't have it all!

I always like to draw off a small sample after the first week or so to check you have pressure, not much good leaving it for months then finding it's not sealed properly and the beer's gone off - happened to me twice due to faulty seals / overtightening / undertightening.

Think of the money you're saving on buying beer though!! ;)
I only meant another FV or two, to be honest - if you can blag some empties from the local pub that's all you need. :thumb:

That's what's bothering me thinking about waiting ages only to find a wasted brew!
