hi guys, opened one of my first biab beers last night ( a light lager made with lager malt, flaked maize and herbsbruker hops) conditioned it for two weeks at room temp then into the fridge at 3-5 oc for four weeks, tastes great and carbonation is good, only problem is when i went to pour it there was so much foam i lost half my pint. this has never happened with any of the kits i have done before so i was wondering whats went on this time ? it was a 500ml bottle primed with one teaspoon of caster suger, same as i have used for the kits. cheers for any thoughts

There's a possiblity that wild yeast got in there at some point. It will then further ferment the priming sugar causing a beer fountain. Often times it wont effect the flavour much if at all, just a bit drier. I have a porter like this at the moment.

yeah after the two weeks carbonating i took them to work and put them in the big walk in fridge, ill take them back and give it another couple of weeks and see if there is any difference. would opening the bottles and re capping them do anything ?

Yes you could open them very slightly, allow gas to escape, and re seal.
