Timings for Woodforde's Wherry

I don't have a CO2-insertable lid - or whatever they are really called! I just primed with 20tsp of sugar last time. This time I will be priming with spraymalt, which will be the first time I have ever used it. 90g in all and that should hopefully do it.

I just put my Youngs keg in the garage to start conditioning in the cool. Hoorah!


Has anyone else tried any of the other Woodforde's kits? Are they as slow as Wherry?
 
Just purchased this as my "first" homebrew experiment - i say first loosely as i tried about 15 years ago and failed miserably! Now armed with the correct equipment and guidance from the internet, here i am! Started fermenting 6 days ago so as per instructions it should be ready to bottle (!) but i am leaving it for another couple of days before exposing it to the elements and taking a reading. Will let you know how it turns out.
 
We just finished our first wherry off over Christmas and loved it. Hubby said it tasted just as he remembered from holiday. It was in the FV 2 weeks and we left it 4 weeks in the barrell. Liked it so much the 2nd wherry, forth kit, is now sat in the FV waiting to be put into a barrell again.
 
out of curiosity, just checked my brew and it's at 1010 so will check tomorrow and if it's still at 1010 - i take it that i bottle (after only 7 days) or shall i leave it another week? :wha:
 
1010 is a good fg so you will be ready to bottle. Leaving in primary for an extra few days will do no harm so just fit it around when you have time.
