I'm coming to the end of my first brew (for 30 years) and I was very fortunate to be advised to use the St Peters Ruby red Ale. This has surpassed my expectations and proved to be incredible! Now to get the last few glasses of nectar from the barrel? I am currently down to the level just above the tap, so I have tilted the barrel by putting a block under it at the back. I reckon this will give me another 2/3 pints of precious liquid. How much sediment will be in there?

Cheers

Hi....wow how longs a piece of string??? I've not done a kit in years but I don't think the Ruby throws that much cr*p....drink it until you start chewing...

I've found St Peters does throw an awful lot of crap, but thats only based on 2 brews. However if it threw twice as much, the beer is worth it.

The BIG Q is do you have another brew coming up to fill the empty keg that you will have very very soon.....

Most definitely. I have brew on that will be kegged in two weeks, in addition I will be bottling 40 pints probably tuesday/wednesday. I can then put on another brew immediat ely so I am making it faster than I am drinking it, stock is building nicely.

thats the way to go...make more than your drinking in the first few months, stocks soon build, especially at 36-40 bottles a time.
