Threaded 1/2" BSP Stainless Pipe/tube

I'm on the lookout for a stainless 230mm length of 1/2" BSP male x male pipe (essentially a long nipple of sorts). Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier please?

As you want a specific length I would check out local engineering businesses or hydraulic repairers. They should be able to cut and thread it for you.

3 x bes nipples and 2 x barrel sockets should cover that distance and be a bit cheaper than a 1/2" die for SS

the bes nipples are about 4" long...

If you do buy a die, you could make me a couple. I suspect many people who convert Bergland pots need something similar.

I found a company on Ebay in China that made sanitary fittings when I was looking for tri clamp fittings. If you can't find a local source you could try asking them to make you one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-2-Male-...DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item33772f0c15 Or just order a 150mm and a 75 and join with a female sleeve. But that would be just over the length you want.

I've been thinking along these lines too. Has only one used a die to thread 1/2" stainless pipe? Do you need to get something specialized/expensive to deal with the the hardness of stainless, or will one of the regular toolstation/ebay die sets do the trick?

How about 1/2" male to 15mm stainless steel compression fittings to unthreaded stainless pipe?
BES 14037 reference taper or 14060 parallel

Regular dies will probably work for one or two threads but for the real deal you're looking at £50 for the die

I saw these...

They claim to be ok for stainless, and are £27. I guess you also need to buy a suitable wrench thingy too...

So it doesn't seem cheap. But neither are the compression fittings that Rhys suggests. If you only need to do a couple of connections then the compression fittings would be best. But if you are doing 1/2 dozen or more than a decent die may be the way forward...
