Hi all,

I'm going to attempt one of these kits this weekend. Just wondered if anyone has given it a go? Apparently a decent lager within 1 month?!

Comes recommended with 1kg of LDM.

However, I’m thinking 1.25kgs of LDM + 150gm of dextrose to give it some extra body and just above the 4.5% abv. Hopefully around 4.7%.
Also wondering if I should attempt to dry hop with 5-10gms of Hallertau hops to give it a bit or aroma once it’s finished

Any Suggestions or tips?

How did it turn out I'm doing the same but dry hopping with 50g haller

The OP was from 2016 and the member hasn't been seen since then.
I have done this kit three times, twice using kit yeast plus a yeast from the AuPa kit which is 50/50 ale lager yeast and that allowed me to ferment around 13-15*C, followed by a 19*C diacetyl rest. I also used 125 g light Crystal Malt to give it a bit of body and in one made up a hop tea with 25g Hallertau which all then went into the FV both tea and hop bits, as for a dry hop. My experience with dry hopping is that the impact slowly dies and is nearly gone after four months, so if you intend to condition/lager for a long time (check the instructions which may tell you that 12 weeks is required for optimum conditioning as for the similar Euro lager) in this case a dry hop may not be the best thing. But the effect of my 'wet hop' did last, however I am glad I didn't use any more than 25g hops or it would have been too much, at least for me.
And finally it was certainly drinkable but I preferred the Euro lager, although there wasn't much in it. And if my Euro lager is anything to go by it was better after 8 months in the fridge rather than 3 months.

Wow I normally primary for 3 weeks max ,condition for 3 weeks and commence drinking so font think I'll get to 8 months maybe this type of kit doesn't suit me lol
