Hi all been brewing kits for years but have recently been yearning for a bit more realism in my brews but havent the money to buy ag kit then I saw a biab video on YouTube
Could someone tell me is it possible to buy these bags if so where and could anyone point me in the direction of a true newbie guide to doing this also does anyone know where I could find starter recipes and help on scaling down to 15 litres to enable stove top brewing
Thanks in advance
Jase

I don't think they are available ready made in the UK, but it is simple to make as Voile is available for curtains . . You don't actually have to make a bag . . .just stuff it into the boiler and have plenty overhanging the sides. . . at the end of the mash gather up the sides and lift the grain out and allow it to drain.

BIAB Forum really covers this in a lot more detail than we know here.

Remember that for BIAB brewing you add all of the liquor to the 'vessel' at the beginning of mashing . . .So if you are talking about a final volume of 15L you need to start with a liquor volume of 22-25L (depending on recipe) . . .then you have to have additional space to accommodate the grain . . .plus to actually allow a rolling boil . . . . and trying to boil 22L on a stove could be really tricky I don't think a stove would be man enough.

The 30 or 40L Biffalo Manual Fil Water boilers are perfect for BIAB and not all that expensive Compared to Making your own.

hmmm could be Keith but unsure as to whether the bottom mesh is too large???

jase, i use this and it is ideal. if i can remember correctly my bag cost roughly the same. it also feels materialy an strong rather than the plastic voile i looked at before.

Tadaaaaaaa http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Viking-huge-m ... 35b50e2283 this is the one I use and it's perfect.

This is one of my brewdays with a fair few photos, should help explain the process. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=13457&hilit=gail+porter

Boiler cost around £40 to make, follow the guide in the how to section :thumb:

wow muddy that starter went off like a bomb many thanks, am currently looking for a industrial gas rin and calor gas to enable me to do this outside and without shocking the electric meter reader lol

Ahh, I'm probably not going to be able to help with sourcing equipment then but the process is still the same. Dead easy after you've had a few goes
