Well after converting a 50 litre keg to bottom draining mastun with insulation, Im at a loss with what to use for a lid. I cut off the top skirt on my mash tun all together and looks like this...
At present I have cut a round piece of insulation attached to a piece of wood for the lid and is pretty much a bodge job and cant see it lasting long and want a more robust permanent solution.
I was thinking if I could maybe buy the lid off one of the thermo pots and the catches for it to clamp and get a good airtight seal.
Looking around it seems the 50l nordic thermos is roughly 395mm across ID, my keggle is 374 ID roughly and 378 outside diameter at the lip of the opening.
If someone who owns a thermos could check from outside the lip to the opposite side outside measurement would be great and if those catches could be removed sold separate etc..????
Any other permanent suggestions welcome too.
