As a group I have found my fellow brewers to be a great help.

I am now asking for a group collective prayer. I have had an offer accepted on a riverside house. So would you all please pray that the sale of my house dosn't fall through like the last time I tried to buy a house   .

 @ Moley . will you pay for mine then ;)
You can also get stuffed, when the house is bought and paid for I'm signing it over to the wife & saucepans, then taking the boat, DJs and Cornelii and cruising off into the sunset.

Is it not a bit mad buying a house by the side of a river? :wha: :wha: :wha:

What with all the recent floods etc etc..........................................

Good luck and all that but I remember when I tried to buy a riverside house many moons ago all the extra surveys etc for the mortgage provider insurance etc etc made it seem ridiculous, & many mortgage providers won't give you the money for a property liable to flooding nowadays, and plenty of insurers wont insure you either.

Hope it all goes through for you Mick :drink: :thumb:

Mick put some estate agent photos in the chat room at the weekend, the house looks a lot higher than the river level. Looked nice.

Shane the property sit about 7ft above river level. The river is non tidal and forms part of the fenland drainage system so is well managed. My current property is at more risk as it is close to the Tidal Nene and sits below river level. I have no issues concerning flooding but I know what your saying about the perceptions of potential risks.

If the ice caps melt it won't matter where in Lincolnshire you live

Good luck Snail - really hope this one comes through!

You need one more correction though (but)

Can't pray but fingers crossed for you!

Is that the same one where someone walked on water and parted the Red Sea. Later on in the sequal a bloke made wine out of water. Funny that I can do that too but I can also make beer out of water, and for my party trick I can turn it back into water.

The very same one I believe, the title escapes me, but it will come to me if I think about it. :?
