How can any be as deluded as Boris? He’s now just a desk limpet living on borrowed time. There will be a Caesar moment shortly when the majority of the Tory party turns against him. Not a snowball in hell’s chance of winning another election with Mr Tumble leading them. Et tu, Priti?

Now it’s Liam Fox (the disgraced former defence secretary) who has jumped ship!

Previously loyal to Boris, he now says:

"…. it is with a heavy heart that I am today withdrawing my support for you as I no longer have confidence in you as our leader. I urge you to do the right thing and resign."

Resign? This is the same man that is the subject of the following report on “Ministerial Standards”:

The report (from 2011) stated in its Conclusions:

“Dr Fox has already accepted that his actions and judgement fell short of the standards of conduct required in the Ministerial Code and the evidence in this report supports the conclusion of a clear breach of the Ministerial Code. He should have declared to his Permanent Secretary that Mr Werritty was a friend who had a company, Pargav, which was funded by a number of donors, some of whom had provided funding to Dr Fox when in Opposition.”

Now Fox feels he can suggest that Boris does the right thing and resigns?

The man wouldn’t know right from wrong if it hit him in the face! If it wasn’t so serious it would be laughable!

As an aside, at the last election, I spoilt my vote, since my Cons candidate was a complete unknown, parachuted in, and I can remember, in DETAIL, all the mad Boris projects from his days at City Hall and onwards were all a fantasy in his own mind. At least as Mayor he had a very strong team around him that generally reigned him in, but as PM he is surrounded by sycophants that have done nothing but bring this country and democracy into disrepute. Got that off my chest.

That's the way we should all do it. Staying at home moaning "well, they're all the same aren't they" isn't on. Making the effort to go to the polling station, even if you have to spoil your vote is a democratic act.

This may be a good day for the Tories that want him to go and a bad day for the sycophants, as someone who has only ever votes Labour i still hope he clings on if he is still there when the election comes around Labour will win but if they replace him with someone better my worry is the Tories will have short memories and Labour may not get in.

I sort of disagree, I spoiled mine by writing none of the above because I wasn’t convinced by any of them, why should I support someone I don’t agree with.

I’ve just listened to PMQ today and Mr Starmer put into words what everyone must be thinking when he said about today’s resignations “It’s like a sinking ship leaving the rats!”

I’m still laughing! Sorry, ‘cos nothing Boris and his gang have done to UK since the voting public gave him a majority in Parliament, is a laughing matter!

Correct - but also Starmer has on 40 occasions been against leaving the EU and is now happy to do so. Corbyn when on the back benches (20 years) was very anti eu, but when Labour leader was all for the EU. Basically , you cant trust any of them, whatever there colours. I think the British people have wised up and can see Parliament for what it is - a world wide embarrassment.

Now some obscure lady called Nadine Dorries “supports the PM” …

… but then again, a few months back she rejected claims that the PM’s father groped a Conservative lady MP!

According to the Guardian:

“Nadine Dorries was embroiled in a row with fellow Tory MP Caroline Nokes this weekend after the culture secretary dismissed her allegations of inappropriate touching against the prime minister’s father.

Dorries said she had known Stanley Johnson for 15 years and described him as a gentleman. She rejected Nokes’s claim that he had “smacked her on the backside” at the Conservative party conference in 2003. ‘I don’t believe it happened,’ she said.”

What is the saying? Something similar to “Like father like son!” I think, or was it “Pincher by name and pincher by nature!” ? With all the corruption flying around I get confused.

Boris’s and his cronies seem to specialise in trying to defend the indefensible, or denying that it ever took place!

Summary​

1. A group of cabinet ministers, including the chief whip, are about to tell the PM to resign, BBC News understands
2. Nadhim Zahawi, only yesterday appointed as chancellor, is believed to be among them - as are Transport Secretary Grant Shapps and NI Secretary Brandon Lewis
3. Michael Gove and Kwasi Kwarteng, both senior members of the cabinet, have also told Johnson to step down
4. At least 36 ministers and aides have quit the government since yesterday when Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak said they were resigning
5. MPs are angry at Johnson's handling of sexual misconduct claims against former deputy chief whip Chris Pincher
6. Johnson has insisted he won't leave No 10, despite the growing Tory revolt
7. The 1922 committee of Tory MPs won't be changing its rules to allow another confidence vote in Johnson - though elections to the committee next week could change that

Who is in the group telling the PM to resign?​

We're hearing lots of talk of a group of ministers in Downing Street, who are going to tell Boris Johnson to resign.
They include:
Nadhim Zahawi, who was appointed Chancellor yesterday by Boris Johnson
Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis (who is currently held up by airport delays in Belfast)
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps
Welsh Secretary Simon Hart
There are reports of two separate groups, with one made up of loyalists. Certainly we saw Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries go into No 10 earlier, and we haven't heard that she has withdrawn her support.
International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan has also been spotted going into No 10, although it is not clear which group she could be part of.

There's a difference between noses in the trough, and a man (loosely used) who has used his time in office to undermine just about every convention and institution. Irreparable damage has been done, and those who have supported him are complicit.
