Yes that's right, our poor Springer Rufus has taken the blame for my eggy smelling brew. Help!

Coopers Sparkling Ale - using the kit yeast.

Covering half of the top is an orangy 'skin' that looks a lot like the yeast cake you would get at the bottom of the FV and it STINKS   of eggs/Sulphur. I am on hour 64 (day 2.5) of the fermenting process.

Can this be normal?

Thanks

Note: I am moderately experienced and know that Yeast can cause this smell, but I have never noticed it before at all. Besides, the skin is a little worrying as I've also never noticed that. AS this ale is bordering a lager, could it be the norm??

It's quote normal for some yeasts to smell really bad when fermenting, especially lager yeast. I wouldn't worry about it. It will sort itself out in time.

My misses usually says the study, where I keep the FV's smells of Bum :D which is usually a good sign its working, next time I'll ask her if its my bum or the dogs

What temp is it at?
