This quote is fantastic....🤣
Harry Potter author JK Rowling wrote on Twitter: "Is coronavirus sneaking around in a fake moustache and glasses? If we drop our guard, will it slip us a Micky Finn? What the hell is 'stay alert' supposed to mean?"
Stay alert is just another Boris soundbite which is his alternative to stay at home which is still the message for Scotland and Wales.

The government has admitted sending about 50,000 coronavirus tests to the US last week for processing after "operational issues" in UK labs.

You slate them for not doing the tests then slate them for doing them after running into processing issues, as i have said may times in this thread they cannot win.

The PM is expected to unveil a new slogan, telling the public to "stay alert, control the virus, save lives"

Wonder what were supposed to be "staying alert" and looking out for, Nazi Paratroopers?" :laugh8:

Those of us of a certain age will know exactly what we need to watch out for.

The lock down is over as far as Londoners are concerned. In fact it's worse seeing as they're nowhere to go apart from parks and green spaces - they're all full. Cycling into work this morning was like a human obstacle course. People are ignoring the lock down but are social distancing which mean people are walking and jogging in the roads to avoid one another. I do find it fun bellowing RIDER!!! at pedestrians who are walking in the road and not look where they're going though.

Peckham was mentioned on the news as being particularly bad yesterday they mentioned the park you posted about the other day being like a normal bank holiday weekend.

No slating just a BBC headline. Please get things right for a change.

Please explain why you posted the headline but not why, are you congratulating them on using common sense and getting the tests done abroad to save time or slating them for not having the capacity to do them here.

The park, Burgess park, is opposite where I live. Throughout the whole of the lock down it's been terrible. I've been avoiding it for weeks (apart from that one time I fell off my bike :laugh8: )

'Stay at home' is pretty unambiguous and in fact I read some ministers were saying it worked too well. 'Stay alert' imply's we should be looking out for something but it's not clear what (I'm still convinced it's nazi paratroopers though)

An alert system to rank the threat level of coronavirus in England is set to be launched by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in his lockdown speech later.

The system, which will use a scale of one to five and be adjusted according to data, is to be as part of the PM's televised address at 19:00 BST.

Mr Johnson will also explain any changes to the lockdown measures.

It comes after he introduced a new slogan, telling the public to "stay alert, control the virus, save lives".

However, the "stay at home" advice will remain in place in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The prime minister tweeted a graphic setting out the new guidance with the message: "Everyone has a role to play in helping to control the virus by staying alert and following the rules.

"This is how we can continue to save lives as we start to recover from coronavirus."

Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick said it was the right time to "update and broaden" the message.

Mr Johnson is not expected to provide exact dates for when the strict curbs on daily life - which have been in place for seven weeks - might change.

"Stay at home as much as possible"

Looks like they are going to relax the rules on going out probably dropping the rules on only exercising locally and once a day.

Thats a very vauge message, so tomorrow i could get in my car go to say Blackpool for a stroll down the prom as long i stay within those parameters

I think that is what they are saying "Stay at home as much as possible" to me says go about your normal business but keep your distance as before, they have to do something to relax lockdown as crowds in London have proved over the weekend people are getting fed up and are ignore the rules.
