Just got back from work. Just after I finished up with my last client I jump on the whip, and was just about to thrash it home and I saw a car with two canoes strapped to the roof! ashock1

I know the government said your allowed to exercise but I think that might be taking the piss

Wonder how many of the talented NHS staff that saved our glorious leader are getting kicked out of the UK because of Brexit.

Just sayin.

Ooo, ooo, ooo, Sir! Sir! Sir! Please Sir, I know the answer to this one......

....... It's none.

There is a process that EU citizens can use to remain. Medical workers, both from within and outside of the EU qualify for preferential immigration status. Double bubble there.

Have a nice day.

I'm on another forum (not a beer one) where some similarly minded remainer tried to claim that all the panic buying was down to leavers, and it showed what a selfish society they had made us into, etc etc etc, until someone politely pointed out that, according to Tesco, the worst of the hording had occurred in the wealthy South, which was predominantly remain.

Now, I don't think you can actually draw any sensible conclusion or correlation between how people voted in the EU referendum and how they are acting during this national emergency, but it's fun to take the Micky out of the people who just can't stop banging the same. old. drum.

This is a Corona virus thread chum. Start another if you want to make political hay out of a national emergency.

I dont have a problem with the lockdown arrangements.
My parents who would now be in there mid 90s if still alive would cause me to be crapping myself if still around.

A lot of hearts are going to be broken over this.
This is the moment when there is such a thing as community.Despite selfish idiots most are complying.
However as any zombe film fan knows it only takes one infected to start it all over again.

Please folks dont spread it.

Not at all Chippy.

I am astounded by the sheer cognitive dissonance displayed by those Brexit voters currently hanging out their front doors banging pots for the brave NHS workers that are saving the UK.

No need to delete or chide, that's the last I'll comment on the matter.

The fact of the matter is your original comment was not fact it was trolling non are being kicked out of the country and you know it it was just a cheap shot.

How do you know these people applauding the NHS wanted them kicking out of the country or do you assume all brexit voters were racist and wanted them to leave.

No need to answer as you have already said (see below) and i am blocking further brexit debate in the thread as stated in my next post below.

Trying hard not to turn this into a Brexit thread but...

what about Non medical workers, like porters and cleaners? Do they get preferential immigration status?
Im sure your aware that the NHS is more than Drs and Nurses but when alot of people think of the NHS, thats who they automatically think of.
I have no idea whether poters, cleaners, etc will be "kicked out" I know recently priti patel announced a one year automatic extension to visas but I dont know who is covered by this extension

ALL, that's every single, EU national currently living here, irrespective of their profession, can take advantage of the government scheme to remain. Full stop. NHS or not.

Anyway, enough of Brexit. One for all you crack head forumites out there Another 'interesting' side effect of C19

Drug treatment experts have raised concerns a drop in the supply of illicit drugs to the UK triggered by the lockdown is leading to an increase in the number of users turning to more dangerous alternatives.
A reduction in global travel, increased border restrictions and a slowdown in movement within the UK has resulted in a drop in the supply of illicit drugs, including heroin and the designer drug spice.
The Guardian understands that border guards have noted a recent drop in seizures as traffic into the country subsides, while senior police sources have noted the dip in supply.
But experts have warned that fewer drugs on the streets is not as positive as it sounds, as users are already turning to high-strength alternatives such benzodiazepines, while there is a significant risk of heroin users substituting with fentanyl, a lethal drug 50 to 100 times stronger than heroin.

It is nice to be nice
However each of us will have personall circumstance so we cant judge.

I have been thanked by people for working when most people are at home trying to stay safe one old bloke stood in his garden and clapped i felt a little emotional as i hadn't thought about how important others think my work is.

It has certainly slowed visits to the drug dealers house in our street they must be gutted.

Noone's clapped me asad.

That reminds me of last summer (sorry going all dutto here. Where is he btw)

You may have heard of the the prudential bike ride that happens every year in summer. Its really three rides. A proffessional race, an amateur ride and a fun ride. The professional race and amateur ride follow the same course and starts in surrey and heads east into central london (the fun ride is a curcuit just in central London. Anyone with a bike can just turn up on the day and ride around it for as long as they like). The relevant streets are cordoned off for the sunday. The course is about is about 100 miles long. First is the professional race followed by the amateur ride.

My route/commute home follows part of the route and I always work on a Sunday. On this particular sunday I finished work and started cycling home. By the time I was heading home the proffesional race was well over and the Amateur ride was pretty much over too. As I hit Wimbledon I started to follow the route of of the ride/race. There were barriers along the route and still a number of spectators. All of a sudden people started to clap 'at' me. At first I wondered what was going on but then I realized the spectators must of thought I was one of the last stagglers for the amateur race (you see something similar for the London marathon when people 'encourage clap' the last stragglers). I couldn't help myself and milked it quite a bit with lots of waving to the (adoring :laugh8:) crowds but secretly knowing by that time I'd only done about 7 miles rather than 100 :laugh8:
