Once I’ve finished this lot then I’ll stick it back the other way round and give it some wellie and see if it seals and stays sealed
The first corny I bought didn't seal on the lid until I added around 20 psi and it didn't leak after that but had me worried at the start though.

Must remember to fill it mostly with H2O before cranking up the pressure, to save on gas... I’d try it out now, were it not that I’ve already decanted 5L into a bag-in-box for my pal
It is very simple to seat the lid. Use a good bit of keg lube or vaseline on the o-ring, get it lined up so you think it looks straight, hold in place without locking it in and apply 30 psi. That will seat it. You can then lock in and vent the oxygen a few times (for some reason I always do it 5 times). Then get your spray bottle of starsan and check for leaks. In the 2 years I have been doing this, I think I have only spotted a leak once.

Evidently the consensus seems to be to apply plenty of gas pressure; so I guess I should be pleased that I’ve find a position where my lid seals just with the locking handle.
Would be handy if some info on how to seal the lid was supplied along with the keg...
