I've had a week off so I managed to revisit one of my favourite Scottish hills - The Cobbler (aka Ben Arthur). It was also a chance to take my son, Cameron, up to see just how magnificent it is. We also bagged the hill next to it which is a munro. I thought I would share a couple of the photos of the day.

This is looking down on The Cobbler from Beinn Narnain

The Cobbler in is majestic beauty!

I hope to get up to Glencoe next weekend if the weather isn't too bad.

You BarSteward!

My 1/16th Scottish blood suddenly feels very homesick.

 I know you have done a fair few hills in the past Moley - I'm sure you will again in the future.

Looks great :thumb:
Best we get around here is a grassed over "muck stack" from the mining days.

Oh I hope so, I'm not a practicing Christian but when you get to the top of some of those Munros I can't help feeling “oh that is f*ckin' awesome, well done you”.

Ben Klibreck's probably my personal favourite from the few I've bagged, alongside Loch Naver, by Altnaharra.

Great pics Dunfie, me and my wife done Shiehallion two weeks ago and it was our first Munro the weather was kind and we got some great photos (I dont know how to upload them) and we thought it was fantastic the views are something else the summit was clear then 20 mins later it was covered in mist(and I drank a bottle of richards red the night before ) duch courage ha ha .

Try living in Essex flat, flat, flat.

Try living in Blackpool, the highest hills we have are sandhills :(

The ironic thing is in next years Olympics the mountain biking is being held about 5-6 miles from me at Hadleigh castle.

i done the cobbler myself many moons ago. It was a cloudy day and by the time we got to the first peak we couldnt see 2feet in front of us! Had to be careful we didnt get too close to the edge.
My favourite hill is the buachaille etive mhor. I ruined a good pair of boots 'skiing' down a skree slope on that one. You should head for that next. :thumb:
You make me want to get back into it. Think ill start easy and head for ben lomond with the kids next weekend. :hmm:

Ben Lomond is a nice one on a good day. We did that back in October and it was glorious. For my money they best way is to go up the tourist path from the car park leading up behind the toilets and then back down the Ptarmigan Ridge. I put up a few photos of that day too.

Ben Lomond

The buachaille is an old favourite too - it is stunning as you enter Glencoe. I plan to get up there over the summer. This weekend looks like the Glen Lyon 4 if the weather permits.

I live in Essex, I agree with Dennis, some parts of Essex are quite pleasant, but very FLAT.
Living in Blackpool you could always get the tram, when it is sorted, to Fleetwood and go up the Mount, but hey, the Lake District is on your doorstep!

Great pictures Dunfie, I am off to Dentdale in a couple of weeks and the Three Peaks are beckoning. (At least Whernside, see how we go after that). Not quite as impressive but still nice to get on the tops. Off to Norway in July, some easy walking in the Sunnmøre Alps.

Really must have a trip to Scotland soon.

Two nice trips.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter where you are - its great to get out there and enjoying the outdoors.

The last time I got a tram from Fleetwood to Blackpool there were housebricks bouncing off the top of it, thrown by the local Fleetwood Fylde scallywags, Don't know if its any better nowadays, as I avoid Blackpool where ever possible, Did two years working on the Prom around and about the tower, taking Grockles money off em, never want to see the place again.

Callum Your photos are stunning, glad you enjoyed the walk.

The first green at Hainult Upper is a fair climb, especially if you carry your clubs and zigzag your way up the fairway like me.

Whereabouts are you Dennis? I'm not too far from Hadleigh myself.

Looks wonderful. I am going to organise a trip up the Peak District soon. It all looks so beutiful.
