Made up the immersion chiller, making two coils inside each other using 50m of 8mm pipe and compression fittings from the grumpy guy at the plumbing centre.

I'm using a 4 gallon aluminium stock pot for now. I want to make a fair few different beers in small batches to experiment. maybe upgrade in time. It takes about an hour on top of the stove to heat up, need to get a boiling ring to quicken the process, and 10/15mins to cool down to 20c

I have a 27lt tea urn on the way too to make corny size batches. I quite like the idea of have a range of 2 gallon batches on the go, so brough a 2 gallon pressure barrel. I might, sorry correction, will get some of the smaller 9lt cornies but at 35 squid a pop their abit expensive. Although the 2 gallon barrels are 20 quid each!!

anyhoo, cheers for the great resource and advice. hopefully i should be able to spread the knowledge sometime soon too
