black choc and carapils you say?? Interesting combo...

I think at the end of the day tho, 200gms of Sauvin at 15 mins is going to completely dominate  its definately going to be hoppy :thumb:

Ended up with 25 ltrs at 1.042, it smell wonderfull. And also had a taster and i know its early but its very simular to a stout. Cant wait now for the fementaion to finish so i can dry hop with the 50grms of super stryians.

Yes it was a nice quicky, from start to finish it took an hour and 10 minutes and that was cleaning Mrs Sivs - Anthony Worrall Thompson stock pot out. GOD IF SHE FINDS OUT IVE USED IT FOR BREWING SHES GOING TO KILL ME. :)

200g of Nelson Sauvin  I only used 90g in 18 gallons of Pale Ale . . . It can get catty when used to extreme . . . I would have stuck with 30-50g maximum . . . oh well you'll know for next time

Well now got 40 pints of THE BEER in the keg. Its turned out looks wise like a porter. As for taste it definatly hoppy. As for aroma well its smells like singed hair  .

250 gr of Black Malt?
Get ready to pucker your lips, you'll know it's in there.

I did an Old Ale recipe with 50 gr. It was too much for me. I brewed it again with only 30 gr. Still too much. It will be my next brew with zero gr Black this time.

Surely it all depends on what you are trying to brew?
I used 500g in my last 40L Mild batch and I think it could have used some more

i used 500grms in a 23ltr batch of Imperial stout and as with Mr TS i wish i had used more.

Yeah, it's only a problem really if you're just using it for colour and then get more flavour than you bargained for... (*checks last recipe apprehensively...*)

The BEER was just something i threw together for the fun of it. As i said in the first post " IS IT GOING TO BE DRINKABLE - WHO KNOWS" But i will find out in a couple of months if it is or not.

It will certainly be drinkable, don't worry about that!

You might have to think up a new name for your next brew though. THE BEER II, maybe?

Well i took THE BEER along to MATCHFEST a few people tried it and the feedback wasnt that bad. Wez and Mr SHAW sampled it, and i think Mr SHAW even went back for another.
