well thats my cherry popped 1st ag brew done and in the fv all went well had a few school boy errors that iv learnd form for next brew for example the brupaks electic boiler i have takes forever to boil the cold tap ater i used nest time ill use hot water speed this side up , also allow around 6hrs start 2 finish ,got something wrong on my volume as was looking for 23l and ended up with 20l so lost some through boil and hops and lastly most importantly make sure the girlfrend is out with the kids they didnt apreciate the fine smell my loveing brew was produceing my only worry now is iv never used a pressure barrel iv got the type that uses the small co2 bulbs but do i prime the barrel with suger first if so what kind and how much do i use as iv only ever used the cooper carbonation drops which iv still got shed loads of
thanks

ahh its true the force on the dark side is much more fun  :drink:

well done , sounds like a good 1st go , yeah don't worry about the levels it will take a couple of brews and you'll have water , grain and strike temps sorted :thumb: for a bitter you would want around 80/100g for 23l so for 20l maybe 80g . Don't forget a picture of brew when ready and what's next ?

ye next i fancy trying a wheat beer iv found a recipe thats 11.2% but on the subject of the primeing suger for my barrell what do i use iv only ever used cooper carb drops an iv got loads of them left lol

priming use normal sugar is best , and before you go jumping into brewing a 11% wheat beware it will most likely taste awful , i love wheats and i have tried an 8% and it was  couldn't even finish the sample glass. post your recipe and method first . While making small changes makes little to no difference to most brews , wheats are different as small changes can make big differences to the outcome , :D

Ye I got it wrong it was an 11% barly wine beer the sugar u mention do you mean normal house hold sugar like fort tea or brewing sugar
