Late Tuesday evening I placed an order for grains from one of our sponsors The Malt Miller. A few hours later I realised I hadn't ordered any yeasts for my next few brews, so I sent off an e mail asking for some yeasts to be included in my order and said I would ring the following morning to confirm and adjust payments. 0910hrs this morning I received an e mail from Rob at Malt Miller saying they had got all my order but unfortunately Fawcetts Otter was temp unavailable and could I wait till Friday for delivery...Or have a sack from Crisp Maltster's for delivery straight away. I rang and confirmed that would be ok, they had got the separate order for yeasts and with price reduction on Otter no adjustments were necessary and the order was being despatched.
Noon today I received an e mail from carrier that my order was to be delivered Thursday...

What great service from a friendly company.

i too have had excellent service from the malt miller , i now only buy from them as i know its all fresh etc

I use the Malt Miller for all my beer stuff, and Brew UK for all my wine stuff or anything Rob doesn't have in stock. Excellent service from both.

Now you know why so many of us use Robs services, cannot speak highly enough of the guy :thumb:

How do you go on for deliveries? I work Monday to Friday so weekday courier deliveries are a pita, I've got a couple of neighbours who'll take stuff if they're in, but usually end up fetching from the nearest GPO depot.

My wife doesn't work ( lazy so and so ) and I'm part time now.... no problems.... aah the joys of being old.

I have only used the malt miller once so far but it is now my first choice for ingredients.

Luckily my work head office is about 2 miles from robs premises and they always give me a massive hirecar to make the trip down from Scotland.

I have just ran out of malt so it looks like another "work" trip is required.

That'll be Milton Park then? I'm fortunate enough to work there too - makes beer shopping so much easier! :thumb:

OK, sounds like they might be able to get to me before I leave for work, also if I plan it right it'll get here while the wife is in as she often starts at 10:00 so leaves the house just after 09:00 :)

Thank you

I just put a line in asking the courier to leave it by the wheelie bins. That way it just looks like trash and no-one is going to go 'running' off anywhere with a typical 25kg-30kg order of malts, grains and hops anyway!

Haha. Luckily garbage man comes at 0530 when delivery man is still in bed ;)

My grains arrived lunch time. Excellent service.

I think I need another bin ! ;)
