Based on advice on another thread to do with astringency in my beer, I downloaded the Thames Water quality report for my part of North London. I guess like others have found, it contained a lot, but not all of what I was looking for.
So I sent a quick email to them via their website, to be honest not expecting all that much. Within an hour, someone called me - the conversation went roughly like this:
TW: Hello, this is Thames Water - I understand you raised a query on our website?
me: Oh, yes, thanks for calling back - I was looking for a bit more detail on water quality?
TW: Ah, right. Brewing beer is it?
me: Ha ha, yes!
TW: We get quite a few of these. Not like the 70's is it? Where you chucked some syrup in a bucket and let it go?
Brilliant. Anyway, the very nice chap sent a note to their labs, and I've just got the email from them, less than a day later with the Ca and Mg data (they didn't have CO3 though).
Not a question for the forum, I just thought a positive experience with a utility company should be shared :)
