Testing keg

Hi guys.

I normally bottle my beer, but have done a keg for the first time. I have to get it to a mates for a do in a couple of weeks and as I figure it will take a bit of time to settle, will take it over this weekend (it's about an hour and a halfs drive). However, I have not tested it yet.

It's been kegged for four weeks now, and just wondered, if I tested it tomorrow, will it be ok two weeks after the seal has broken, so to speak, or will the quality deteriorate? Only planning on taking 100ml ish. Guess it will be ok, but not totally sure.

I take it that we are talking about a 23 litre keg and not a Corny (about which I know nothing)

With an ordinary 23 litre keg there's no problem with tapping into it as long as the CO2 pressure on top of the beer is maintained.

It's also good practice because, if the keg has been leaking or the carbonation hasn't worked, it will be time for Plan "B"!

After taking out the test beer I suggest that you spray the tap with some StarSan or equivalent so that nothing nasty is attracted to it during the next two weeks.

Instead of spamming other members posts, why don't you post in "wanted and for sale" and actually tell us how much they are?
That would probably be within the rules of the forum and unlikely to get you banned.
Believe it or not, there are some on here that would be interested in cheap cornies.
