By the way I got the 11cm ones (biggest ones they do) I
I've just ordered some from another supplier, also UK based. Do the 11cm ones fit into your all rounder? I tried measuring and it looks a little tight. I did have the lid on as I have a brew going ATM so it was a guestimate measure! Bought a couple of 11 cm and 8cm ones just in case...

Bit hard to see, but they are in there now.

Hey guys. Something is really bothering me, can anyone help please?

I am a couple of days away from transfer yet, but it looks like my dip tube is not under the liquid level. I think this is one of the problems I had on my last transfer. We ended up with air going up the pipe. When we realised what was wrong we had to knock the float as it was caught on something. We have cut it down to the right length so I don’t think it’s that. And it’s not caught on the hop containers.

Don’t want to make the same mistake again. Is there anything I can do to stop getting air up my tube? I’m worried about putting bitter flavours in my beer if I knock the FV, or possibly disturbing the stuff that’s already settled out. Am I flapping over nothing? 🙈

I'd give it a shake! You've got a few days for it to settle again, also you could whack the FV in the fridge for a few days to cold crash, that would help more **** to drop out of suspension.
I've got one of those little filter things on the end of mine, then the end of the tube is always just under the liquid.

I don’t have one of those fancy contraptions myself but I have seen someone fit a stainless nut over the dip tube to sink it - might be a future modification?

I often buy stuff made of Chinesium - just factor early replacement in your thinking and it’s probably still cheaper. I’ve bought stuff from China that cost less than the postage alone for the “same” item in the UK.

I don’t use those tea strainers though. In the kettle I use a Sainsbury’s produce bag for pellet hops and a laundry bag for HUGE leaf hop additions. I just chuck either straight into the fermenterThis is my huge leaf hop additions bag, I’ve not managed to overload it yet 😉

The nut idea is probably the way to go. That sentence sounds wrong somehow 😂

And that is a big one, good grief! 😁

I had to google what a produce bag was, what a thicko! Looks like a good idea though.

The weave on the produce bag is close so no hop pellet material gets through (mostly).

“what a thicko” - you and me both. I had to reread my own post while thinking what’s nuts got to do with anything! 😂
