I am sure it will be enough to send people into a frenzy and go bulk buy marmite 10L pots and 300 pot noodles

Perhaps they failed to impose their junta on Mr Unilever and he's thrown a strop and taken his ball home....

So if I want Marmite and Pot Noodles, I'll go to one of the many other supermarkets.... so Tesco lose out... they are idiots that think they are more powerful than everyone else.

That's not really the point though is it - just the headline grabber for the layman.

the point is that one of the biggest suppliers in Unileaver and one of the biggest reatailers in Tesco are butting heads because neither want their profit margins affects by the economic fallout from Brexit.

Big business will win out, Tesco will restock their products and the price increase to cover their margins will be passed on to us.

Tip of the iceberg for surge of the cost of living, methinks.

As someone who buys very few branded products I care little. Short sighted from Unilever maybe, there are plenty of alternative brands and own label products to choose from out there.
I would never buy Pot Noodles and would only buy a jar of Marmite once a year if that. And as far as I'm aware Marmite is made in UK so how can they blame Brexit for increasing it's price.

Yep and they make 35% profit. I avoid them like the plague. Over priced!

I only heard part of the story and did jump to conclusions (it was 05:49 AM), i do buy certain branded products and will admit a small price increase will not change my shopping habits.

My thoughts on the subject - If customers must have branded products they shouldn't moan about the price, they are not forced to buy them.

The thing is marmite is a home made product made from waste brewing yeast from British breweries...why are Unilever putting up the price 10% on this? It will also affect all companies that sell Unilever. .they will either have to absorb the cost or pass it on. Not unless Tesco are just being aligned with the rest of Unilever customers to what they pay....remember earlier in the year about Tesco's treatment of their suppliers. It may have just bitten them on the ****...

It used to be quarterly so is overdue, they are probably going to wait until nearer Christmas, I will be buying a couple of kits again.
