Hi all

Have not kept the stocks up (been fishing instead) and now its too warm to brew.
Answer to be able to control the temp in the fridge in the garage.
Been on the forttrex website.
Which would be the most suitable the ETC200 OR atc800+?

Cheers

Andy

I'm a little confused :?

If you type in STC 1000 into Ebay it brings up quite a few different sellers, all pretty much from Hong Kong.

It also looks like there are two different makers of it, Elitech and KI & BNT???

Are they both essentially the same or should one be preferred over the other?

Cheers :thumb:

& I can vouch for the other K&I one, been using it for a while with no problems.

So take you pick m8

(this one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/All-purpo...067?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa6f6d0cb uses BOTH in the pictures! The first pic is the K&I one then the Eltech etc :nono: )

I ordered from that seller - Mixtea - and received an Elitech so I'm guessing they are identical.
Due to FX rates now they are also about £4 cheaper

Lovely thanks for the replies chaps,

Looks like both are the same so will order one soon :thumb:

Edit: Soon meaning I've just ordered one £15 :D

I hope this is not a daft question but I am not that experience with electronics

From what I can see of the diagrams would this be the correct thing to set up.
Wire a plug to the power supply.
Connect in the probe.
Wire in a socket to the heating out and another to the cooling

No wires connected to multiple connectors.

Hi cutnrun,
No, the supply is switched by the unit not supplied by it.
What you can do if feed the live direct to the unit and the sockets and the neutral to the unit and via the switched outputs to the sockets.
It is a shame there was no link through as it would make the wiring simpler but not a daft question at all.

aahhh that makes more sense!

have just looked at the diagram in one of the earlier posts and looks pretty straight forward.

ordered one and off to maplin to get the rest of the bits!

Just remember that these units are only rated to 10A (2200W/2400W) so are fine for switching ONE element but not 2. But otherwise they are great units.

thats fine, the HLT is only 1 element, the boiler is just turned on and left to boil. i don't do any brews where i have to hole the temp at 80 or what ever.

may use it on a fridge for largering but fridges... 10A and 2.4kw should be enough.. right?

Don't know of ANY fridges that would need 10A :thumb:
Most fridges have a start up current of up to 10A when the compressor starts . . . Particularly when the oil/refrigerant is cold and thick

Mine arrived yesterday from Hong Kong.

I've nothing to connect it up to yet so it'll be stowed away until needed.

Surprised at how small it is but feels very well built. Really pleased.
