Hi,

I'm building an 85l fermenter out of a blue food grade barrel. I want to have some decent temperature control. My current plan is as follows;

- drill hole for ball valve
- wrap barrel in electric blanket
- wrap in insulating foil bubble wrap
- seal seams with aluminium tape
- drill lid and fit coils for cooling
- attach maxi 310
- fit ball valve
- run the electric blanket and cooling coils off an inkbird plug and play.

Can you see any problems with this? Blanket would be primarily set at it's lowest setting (unless thats not sufficient).

Cheers

Where is the temp probe going? I would suggest a thermowell near the middle of the barrel.

Yeah, the thermowell I have is 40cm long and the barrel is 75cm high so fairly happy it'll get a good reading.
