If I get the doings tomorrow and get a TC or a few TC's on the go Friday, how long from the ferment to drink

Will it be drinkable and tasty by say May or June or July even

I have just opened a bottle I did last September which is sweet as too much raspberry went in but wow what a kick :whistle:
 
Depends on the acidity level.
My latest took 3 weeks to ferment, and I just bottled it today.
My normal regime is 2 weeks warm to carb and 2 weeks cold to condition (so 7 weeks start to drinking) but I expect further improvement in the few weeks after that.
This one is intended for mid-April but the leftovers from bottling are damn tasty already.
If I'd used a more acid juice it might only just be palatable by mid-April.

I went to a couple of Tescos and never got that price for the apple juice

I did though get a great bargain as in 1.5 litres of apple juice for 85p and duly bought 10 and then when I looked closely at home it was apple juice drink :oops:

So now would an apple wine be ok.

It says 50% juice so how about I throw 10 of them in a fv along with 5 litres white grape juice

Would that work

They're all formulated to taste right, so you get roughly the same amount of actual apple per litre whether it's pure juice, from concentrate, or a "juice drink". The only problem with the juice drinks is they often contain sorbates which have to be boiled off (and even boiling isn't always effective). If they have sulphites, leaving them open for a day ought to sort it, with maybe a gentle warming. If it's just vitC, fine to use direct. Oh and a juice drink might have sweetener that won't ferment in place of some/all the sugar. You gotta read the label - might be best to find somebody who likes apple juice and offload it, and start over, if you have sorbates, sulphites, or sweeteners.

The only real difference between cider and apple wine is that The Revenue declare it to be wine when it's over 8%ABV. My latest batch is technically a sparkling wine at about 8.8% but I'm calling it Dave's Special 60th Birthday Celebration Cider and sod the Revenue
 
Hahahaha sod the revenue is right, they get enough taxes other ways

Yes looks like I will maybe give it all away at the weekend and start again
