Not sure if this is the right forum...or title, but here goes.
When I was last in England, I noticed quite a few of the pubs I visited had taps that the barman had to pump to get the beer out. ( not unlike a well head for water ) What is the purpose/ why do they have them??? I thought the CO2 is what pushed the beer out of the keg and carbonated it....Or have I missed something obvious???
