HI
I have been mini/partial mashing since Jan and am keen to use the maximum amount of grain to extract. I have a 23L pan and i could happily boil 18 l in it. Most mini mash recipes are using 5 to 11 l so i wondered if i up the water i can up the amount of grain.
I was thinking if i get an AG recipe and scale it to 18l (using brewfather etc) and mash/boil that then calculate the DME/LME required to make up to 23 l with the required OG - is that a good plan ? (i know i will need to get a higher IBU also as i will be watering it down).
Do any members have other great methods they can share ?
Thanks.
