My swmbo will drink wine but nothing else uless its out of a can :hmm: as for brewing she tollerates it but im ok now as i have the brewhouse to go so no smell in the house :thumb:

I am very lucky. She tolerates my mad schemes in most circumstances. She's not an ale drinker, but when it comes to wine she's very supportive, quite happy to gather fruit & help with bottling, & the drinking as well I mostly do my AG brewing when she's out (the smell is not mentioned). No complaints about the gear everywhere.I am allowed to brew inside. She is much happier if I go the brewshop & lug back a 25kg sack of grain than if she has to buy the beer & bring it home from Asbos.

Again, I'm lucky & I know it.

Both me and the hubby took an interest in brewing together, Him for ale, and me for cider, a couple of years ago. At the minute I've got all the DJs full and I want to start a 40pt cider kit in the large FV, but I'd rather OH did his ale kit first, which he still hasn't got round to  It might bug me if he got into full AG brewing and I barely saw him or his equipment took over half the house, but right now it's just an attempt at self-sufficeiency in booze, and anything that saves money in our house is brownies points for OH :thumb:

A lot of interesting viewpoints there :)

I was talking to Samantha (my other half) about it last night. She's been doing an accountancy course and is currently in between terms... she reckons that's why she's displayed an early interest in it and that it might wane once she starts on AAT Level 4. Thing is, with kit brewing at least, it don't take up a massive amount of your time... a lot of it is waiting after all! For me at least, it's a relaxing hobby, a nice way to escape the stresses of working life. That's definitely something she needs as well, her job is just as stressy as mine sometimes.

I guess we'll see soon enough. For the moment at least... it's nice :)
