Luckily I'm in South Wales :thumb: Blackpool is all yours :D

Good old Dad

I did post about those bottles a couple of months back, bought a few myself and quite enjoyed the Schwarze. Haven't seen any in our Aldi recently though, might have been a short term offer and not a regular stock item.

I told the wife that i needed to go out and buy 80 bottles of this last week and i was shot down in flames... we settled on 15 bottles... which i have taken to be a weekly limit

Bottling day's with swing tops are much nicer.. as is opening them on drinking.

Back in stock, but I only bought one bottle yesterday, they've only got the light and not the black.

I'll test one of the lights and see if they've got the blacks next weekend.

Dropped on Yesterday, local Aldi near me at Wath upon Dearne had reduced them to 99p.... :D :D
Tried two other Aldi's nearby and they were still full price???
Basket was very heavy......

my boys just started at sheffield uni, he's joined the beer society Cheers RD

I've been stocking up on these a bit at a time over the last week or so. Got about 30 so far and already used about 10 on my last brew. So easy to clean and delabel. Looks good. Empties quickly and the beer aint terrible, all good :D

:wha: That's strange, why would they reduce an item which has only been in stock for a couple of weeks?

It was still £1.79 in our branch but I'm waiting to see if they get the Schwarze in. The light one's pretty good but it's not really my thing.

Heading down to Pontypridd this morning so I'll take a look in my son's local branch.

Same here Moley can't understand it?? it must be store specific where the manager needs shelf space??
They were also reducing other items on the same shelf, wonder if it was a mistake and I got lucky? :D

From what I know it's a case of the manger shifting some stuff that they want out. So maybe they only had a few of these bottles in and not enough to keep a supply.

Could be a pricing error in your favour :)

Both Aldi and Lidl have been flogging decent ale at £0.99 a bottle, in crown cap bottles, for the last 3 or 4 months, they may have put the £0.99 onto the 'premium' beers by mistake?

I've got 'one or two' crown cap bottles in the shed that had ales such as Hatherwoods Ruby Rooster in them, it's 'only' 3.5% so a reali nice session ale, lovely and bitter with a light hop aroma, I've enjoyed every one of the 60 odd bottles that are being 'recycled' via the TRX Brewery :D
