hi guys what with summer approaching, and warm weather coming.
do you stop brewing at around July / august.
as it is to warm.
I have no heat control.
don't want to buy the horrible supermarket rubbish.
any suggestions.
cheers sam.

FV in a builders trug full of water with a fish tank heater?

If you are a kit brewer look at the Coopers kits as these being Australian in manufacture are much more tolerant of higher fermentation temps

;)

Belgian beers seem to cope with high temperatures.

If you use kits then Brewferm Diabolo or Triple are fairly good. If you do AG then Saison yeast is meant to work best at really high temps. I'm thinking of giving that a try.

The Coopers Original Lager with the green lid - Brew enhancer or 500g DME plus 0.5 to 1kg sugar brewed to 20 - 25L.

Worked for me! So foolproof!

:drink:

forward thinking me duck, brew beers and ales in summer for winter drinking and lagers in winter for summer.

If you have a concrete or ceramic tiled floor, it acts as a heat sink, sucking the heat away to some extent. I didn't have a problem last summer, never exceeding 24C, which is just about acceptable. You could get a big trug and add ice in the morning to keep things cooler.
