I've got bittering sorted, but I want a Flavour/aroma hop for an IAPA. Big bold brash . . . thought cascade . . . but then decided that was just boring.

It's not a style I've brewed or am really familiar with, so suggestions welcome.

I'm currently thinking Cluster / Amarillo / Summit / Centennial . . . One of not all . . . although as it is an Imperial APA perhaps I should use all of them and add 10g of each every 10 minutes through the boil :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

I really like Amarillo at the moment.
My local micro does a 5% IPA that it heavily hopped with Amarillo......it's absolutely cracking.

Have a good brew :thumb:

I'd recommend Centennial, if it's good enough for Thornbridge's Jaipur.. :D

(even though that's not American!)

Amarillo is another good hop, great fruity flavours. Columbus also good as are Horizon (both around the 14%aa)

Amarillo gets my vote :thumb: Not sure i'd want to use Columbus as an aroma hop with it having such a high AA%

Went with Amarillo in the end (Supercharged cascade IIRC )

will be bittering with Apollo (19.5% Alpha! )

Probably go for something around the 1.080 mark with an absurd IBU, and hop bomb it with Amarillo for that authentic rip your throat out attitude of US APA's

Get some simcoe for a late edition, the smell of it is awesome.

Amarillo definitley gets my vote too, Franklin's Amarillo wheat is one of the best beers I have ever had, AFAIAA you can chuck as much amarillo in a brew as you like, 500g of Amarillo in 5gal of his AW he said.

I'd love to be able to get hold of some Simcoe Shane.....MaltMiller has been out of stock on a couple I want to try for a while :(

Ross has Simcoe in stock at craft brewer, and some New season Galaxy too :thumb:

I just love the flavour and aroma of galaxy hops!
