Stupid Question!

Hey guys

Is there a way to sanitise my pluto gun (it has 3/16 line) without having to pressurise a keg and push the sanitiser out? The tube is far too thin to effectively get sanitiser in it just by pouring. I feel like I'm wasting gas by using the keg method.

Maybe try a turkey baster or a syringe to squirt sanitiser down it

It may not help you right now, but I use a carb cap and a PET bottle for this kind of thing: Beer Storage and Dispense - New and Used KEGS and Fittings - Stainless Carbonation & line cleaning Cap - The Malt Miller | The Malt Miller
Also useful for counter-preassure filling PET bottles, should you ever need to.

Like you say...its lack of experience. Everyone on this and every other forum started the same. Some are happy with the basics some need to know everything.
I look at most things as a great big puzzle...some you complete others might have a piece missing but you can still see enough to know what the picture is.

I bought a cheap pressure spray pump thing from Wilko and just cut the sprayer off and replaced with a carb cap. Use it for pushing PWB or StarSan through things and also for cleaning my beer lines.

Similar to @Davegase I've adapted a sprayer. My next plan is to attach the previous spray attachment to a spare ball lock disconnect so I can use it both as a line cleaner and to spray sanitiser - though it might just be easier to use a small garden one come to think of it...

On mine I just cut the entire spray bit off, warmed up the end of the black pipe a bit and forced it onto a plastic carb cap. Works well with no leaks.

Plus 1 for a carbonation cap and a small bottle to push cleaner through the lines - and love a carb cap for fizzy water and other carbed drinks.

I tend to, whilst cleaning a keg, add a small amount of pressure and let some cleaning fluid through the gun so the dip tube also has cleaning fluid in it. Later I'll do the same with sanitiser.
