Hello
I am brewing a Geordie Mild which is supposed to get down to 1005 after a week and it seams to be stuck at 1009 and has been for the last three days. It has now been in the fermenter for 10 days .
What should I do?

Bottle / keg it.

If you've got a stable hydrometer reading for 2-3 days it's finished.

Did you use any ‘enhancer’ or spraymalt? That would raise the FG by a few points.

Thanks Moley. I used a Muntons beer kit enhancer on recommendation so would that change the FG?

Yes, ‘enhancer’ is part brewing sugar, part Dried Malt Extract.

The DME (otherwise known as Spraymalt) will contain some unfermentable sugars, so your Final Gravity will be a little bit higher, your beer will be just slightly sweeter, but it will have more body and better ‘mouth feel’ than if it was brewed with sugar alone.
