Well I appear to have 3 stuck brews
Porter at 1020 started at 1055 on its 3rd week now
Blond at 1030 started at 1060 on its second week not that worried
And a brown at 1020 started at 1055 into its 3rd week as well !!!!!

have given all of them a shake / stir and moved them all to a warmer area of the house 24C is the reading on the FV's here is hoping that they get going again as the brown is sickley sweet at the moment, If they dont get any better in 2 days im of to Leyland for some supplies and some yeast vit, may even repitch another packet of yeast into all the FV's if they dont get going and down to a 1014 at least.
Brown and blond are still very cloudy as well :( so I may have to bung some gelatine in them to help the clear unless the cold outside manages to do that for me when they are ready.
Need to get them all out of the fermenters and into cornies as I want to get more beer brewed thats not got the I have been brewed to warm taste.

every time I get stuck ferment I rouse then if nothing I pitch champange yeast in as thats pretty good at getting it going again and adds a nice flavour , also gets those high og beers to ferment right down,
I got one started the other day at 1.092 og and am sure it will need the champagne yeast in a few days as it gets high in alc it will prob kill of the munich and nottingham I have in at the moment.

I've had ongoing problems with brews sticking around 1.020, Have tried various different things, Different aeration, diffenrent temps etc, people said it could be mash temp but I'm running a herms and double checked calibration of all temperature devices.
My last brew was The witch of Endor done on sunday, Did nothing different this time than 1 teaspoon of yeast vit per 5 Ltr. and hey presto, :P I have a quick fermented Low Gravity ale after 3 days I'll leave it to clear for a week then rack it off.
I shall be using Yeast Vit every brew from now on. :thumb:

Well I roused the brews this morning but they showed no sighn of anything doing this evening yeasties had settled back to the bottom of the FV's so i have thrown in a packet of Safeale S04 into the 2 bitters , The stout / prter is happily fermenting so hopefully I should be kegging 3 beers this weekend comming, and brewing again on Sunday. Only prob is the beers are really cloudy never seen them this bad in the past so they will have to sit outside in the cold to hopefully clear.

Now Friday and the brews even after pitching a packet of S-04 into each and at 24C have not budged a point so im thinking of going to my local HB shop and grabbing a kilo of beer enhancer and making a huge starter with a packet of yeast and splitting that between the brews as im at a loss to what else I can do

Currently the brews are as follows
Porter at 1020
Light beer 1020
Brown beer 1030

Fecking things are cloudy as hell as well.

If some one has a better idea fess up as im at a loss now.

you could try a bit of oxegen or at least an air pump blowing some in to get the yeast to multiply again
if you can get at any of the yeast in the bottom get some out and try and get it going again in a sterlie bottle and repitch it as it should have adapted to your beer and its cloudy cos of all the dead yeast floating about once you can get the yeast active again it should start to drop out again,
not sure what else I can suggest

Once the yeast have started to produce alcohol the last thing you want do is introduce oxygen as it leads to the production of sherry like flavours further down the line. . . . while actively fermenting yeast are very good at scavenging oxygen . .. yeast that have gone dormant and are no longer fermenting will take a while to recover and mop it up exposing the beer to the potential problem of premature staling.

Split a 1 litre starter between the three brews this afternoon, Starter was made up of 0.5kg beer enhanser ( lhb own brand mainly brewing sugger and dryed malt extract ) left for 3 days with a packet of s05 in it to ferment and let the little yeasties multyply and get good and strong , Must say the porter is off so are the other 2 brews but not that fast so im hoping tht this has done the trick.

24 hours later and stuffed against a radiator 2 of the brews still have not budged, looks like a last resort of yeast vit to get the damn things down I dont really want to end up bunging 2 brews down the drain TBH as im almost out of gas :(
