Hi Guys trying to configure streaming media here, and Using MediaEncoder I have a video stream running . . . I can connect to it via the Lan on the internal IP and port (Using Media Player), but when I try externally using media player it fails . . . and yet using DynDNS tools open port tells me that the server is open and accepting connections . . . any ideas . . . want to get this working for the next Effin brewday

have you got the firewall on your router set to let the connection through?

Well according to the router I have Private Port 1035 mapped to public port 9192, and it is enabled. Using the open port tool at DynDNS it tells me that effinbrewery.homeip.net:9192 is open and accepting connections (Not blocked by a firewall and or isp) . . . I have confirmed that I can connect on the Local LAN side using Media Player and port 1035 . . . . and I have completely rebuilt the PC I am using as a streaming server (Well using Media Encoder On) this morning, removing Windows Firewall and anything else that might cause issues

. . . .

Bugger it looks as though its not going to be done for tomorrow . . . time to replumb the brewery

IP translation?

Is it directing the mapped port at the right internal IP, i.e. the one for your streaming server?

Try THIS for a media server as well it is quite good you can also connect to its streams from a web page.

must admit the post above mentions tversity, and to be honest, it is very good, am using it all the time, in conjunction with another media player, and that is XBMC, together they work a absolute treat!!
