I've done a little bit more research, by that I mean I bought a few bottles of strawberry beer from morrisons. Really good stuff, so I am def going to look into brewing some of my own, thanks for all the help everyone :)
I've just made a Fruli style beer. Simple wheat with hallertau and 250g strawberries in 2 gal, then I'm gonna pour strawberry syrup into the glass when serving for deep flavour, colour and sweetness. Not tried it yet but I'll let you know!
