Hi all. Had a choc stout kit in the FV since monday afternoon. Upto now ive had absolutely no airlock activity. Had a look under the lid and something doesnt seem quite right. Not much Krausen at all. During the 'brew' i accidentally put the FV lid on the induction hob for a sec and burn a slight hole/slit in the rim of the lid. I covered the slit with a load of tape. Could air be escaping from this?

Thanks

"not much krausen"...so you have "some)?..
As for a cracked lid and no airlock activity....yes,sounds exactly right!
Not being funny but it's C02...that your brew produces ...don't be tempted to keep lifting the lid though as you could introduce infection. Leave it a other day or so...
What temp/location is the brew at?

Aye, just a bit. Guess thats not much to worry about?
Temp is between 20-22c.
When you say leave it another day or so? What am i looking for after the day or so?
