As I have been enjoying a Tom Caxton kit from Wilkinson's, I was thinking of trying one of the Stout kits sold there. Anyone tried one? How did it come out?
So far tried Young's bitter kit. Not too good. Tom Caxton, excellent. :D

If you can then try a coopers stout kit brewed with 1kg of Dark DME or Black treacle. Lots of good reviews. I did one last year and it was great! Check the reviews section of the forums.

I did a coopers stout kit and it was so good it blew me away.Just add a kilo of Demmerara sugar and a tin of black treacle. It ferments like a mclaren f1 taking off.Its a cracker enjoy!

Again, another vote for the Coopers Original Stout (the white-coloured tin, not the black one) although I did mine with 500g dark spraymalt, a tin of black treacle and a jar of supermarket value golden syrup. Luvverly.
