Sod that i will send you a bottle i told you im so lazy not as lazy as the londoner mind MyQul:rofl:

Its not bad tbh not what i was expecting, its got great head retention however all the hop aroma has gone , nice mouth feel , the Red X Malt certainly adds loads of colour, without going back a page i cant remember what crystal malt i used but it was quite high, lovely caramel notes all in all considering i started off making a Irish Red Ale but did not have any lighter crystal, ended up a total different beast

Good effort at the Goulden-speak but we need some descriptive words that compare the flavours to things - like smoked thistle, honey-coated orange blossom, oaked nettle shoots and things like that.

Weird about the hop aroma. Maybe the yeast strips it out.

Maybe it was the yeast first time ive used it? funny how the hop aroma has gone after such a short length of time  and when you use such words as oaked nettle shoots i will try harder Mr Clibit

t58 + shed lods of hops = where'd the hops go?

still, i only have 13 brews under my belt so i'm still learning :-)

the t-58 deffo mellows the hops which if u like big US hops but just want to tone down the excess would be right up your street.

I think what happens is if the yeast is kicking out shed loads of C02 the hop aroma disapears with it as the CO2 leaves the FV. I know this is what happens to the sulpur compounds produced by the yeast so your beer doesn't (usually) end up smelling like dog farts

i've noticed this even when dry-hopping with t-58.

however i never ever want a beer thst resembles dog farts

Re: beer that smells like dog farts. You'd be surprised. I cultured some yeast up from some brakespear triple. When it was fermenting it absolutley honked. So much so I only every brewed with it twice before Mrs MQ banned me from using it. But the beer that was made with it was georgous. All the dog farty smell had gone and a lovely subtle fruity ester was in the beer
