Hi I have just got myself some Videne :thumb: :thumb: . Got it online from clicky.

My question is that can I just spray the surface of my clean FV with a diluted solution of it it or does it need to soaked in a solution of it, ie fill the whole FV with it. I believe it need to be diluted a 1.25ml/l.

Any help most welcome

Thanks for the link, I've asked in Boot's but they didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

There are some others online but require you to have a prescription or an NHS account. I don't know what others pay but 7.50 delivered isn't bad.

1.25ml/l will give a no rinse solution :thumb:
I have a one litre spray bottle that I use, I spray it onto the inside surface of my clean FV, wetting the whole surface, leave it for a minute then turn it upside down, let it drain and then use it :thumb:

I tend to mix up about 4 litres ( to 5ml of videne). This goes into an FV and gets used during the course of the brewday ( or kegging / bottling day). I can then put items into it and then just give them a quick rinse before using ( I know it's no rinse but IIRC that's only if its very well drained, and I tend to sterilise at the last second). When it comes to using the FV I just make sure it has been sloshed all over the sides and the lid, empty, rinse and then fill.

I imagine I could use less, but this way there is always plenty around when I need some and a 500ml bottle lasts ages.. :thumb:

Moley, I got mine from the Boots meds/prescriptions counter. They had a big book with their Only to Order Stuff, it was in there. I'd try someone else in there if you're wanting to get hold of it.

Cost me £6.00 or so.

I used a local chemist - think they used the same big book :thumb: - got it next day for £5-6 ish

Got mine from the local Chemist . . . Paid 3.45 for 2 500ml Bottles

I am sure if Aleman fell out of a plane at 30000ft he would land unscathed on a bed of feathers still holding a full glass of champagne ........ make that RIS :hmm: :hmm:

I got mine from the same link in graysalchemy post above. Good service, I got 2 bottles (it will last for ages).

I think I paid about £11-£12 delivered to my door.

I better not mention the 5 litres of BTF Iodophor I got from the local Farm suppliers then and paid 7 quid for

Moley,

My local boots didn't Know what I was talking about when I assured them they sell Videne, but a bit of perseverance paid off, cos she said will it be a medical item, & i said probably,so she looked through their medical catalogue under the counter and hey presto in store next day £6.25 500ml I think.

Is that stuff the same as wescodyne. When I worked on a fish farm in scotland we had to wash in that stuff when going between the different sites.

Just looked on internet could Fam 30 be used, £25.00 for 5l.
