Is there a " best " no rinse solution ? Are they any good? ,
I find it very difficult to move a heavy fermenting bin so have to siphon any solution out.
I can get help with the keg to move that.
Thanks

I just use 500ml of steriliser for my fv, swill it around for 15-20 mins with the lid on, quick rinse with tap water, drain and brew. Works fine for me, no moving full fv around.

Starsan. About 2ml in a 1litre squeezy bottle. Just spray everything once it's cleaned. Very easy. I've never had any issues and a 20quid bottle will last 2 years at least.

I put 10ml of starsan in 5l of water and thrash it all up...any pipes I need will be left in it while I faff about...I tip this in to a spare fv which will also have my paddles, spoons, pipes etc in.

Hi!
If your FV is too heavy to move, my first suggestion is to replace it with a new lightweight one.
Working with your current FV you need to either fill the vessel to the brim with sterilising solution or rig up some kind of spray to apply solution to all internal surfaces. Star San only requires 30 seconds contact time.
How do you clean and rinse the vessel?

Thank you star san spraying sounds like the way to go. I was filling vessel then siphoning out . Clean and spray sounds SOOOO easy

I'd use a bit of milton while giving the FV a clean, rise it out then spray down with starsan. If you make a solution in a spray bottle, this will last you a lifetime

My fermenter is way too heavy too (70L, stainless steel conical, so I don't want to hear comments about "getting a lighter one"!).

I use Starsan for sanitising - but its no good for cleaning for which I use VWP (sticking rigidly to the 15 minute contact time 'cos VWP isn't kind to stainless steel). So I deal with the drainage problem with a nifty device. A Bilge Pump! I use one with a manual pump fitted to a wall(£15-16), but you can get 12V ones (£20-25).
