I got mine from eBay. It's actually £2 cheaper than when I bought it at the end of 2012. Can't remember how long it took to come but no more than a few days. It's a UK seller.

No. Comes with probe. You do need to wire it into a box though.

No, you get a plastic one that is rated to 95C or so. I only posted the link in case you were going to use it in a kettle.

No. Comes with probe. You do need to wire it into a box though.

Yes i was aware of that, can't figure out which box to buy though. I want sockets to be outside of the box.

I am still looking for a suitable box too, in the meantime I canablised two extension cords, its not pretty and my kids aren't allowed near it.

Well if you find one can you please let me know. I saw one specially for stc 1000 on the ebay for a fiver.

Try maplin for a box, I used the Plastic Box MB3 which was perfect as I used trailing leads. They have other sizes available if you want sockets on the box itself :thumb:

Recently bought one from ebay, this Seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200937407692?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 UK and quick delivery.

Box was Maplins, input cable is an old PC kettle lead and the trailing sockets and mains cable came from Wilko's, sockets were £1.49 each in think and 1 metre of 3 core mains cable for 75p.

With the diagram from this forum it was an enjoyable build, can't wait to use it on my next brew, just for heat control for now, but cooling in the summer when I finally get a fridge.
