Starters how long before pitching

I have read mixed theories on how long before your brew you should begin your starter from a day to a week.

Just wondering what you guys find works

2 to 3 days for me.

I will be doing A starter for the first time on my next brew. I plan on pitching after about 12 hours at high krausen

As long as I'm sticking to the 1:10 ratio and under 1040, I tend towards three days as I believe it's better to have it fermented rather than fermenting when pitched.

Thanks I was thinking of doing a brew Sunday morning not definate.. So I will probably make the starter tomorrow afternoon / evening
