What's with the dual lid on the star san bottle? I've always wondered that but never thought to ask lol.

If you close the main section and open the small bit you can squeeze starsan from one chamber to the other.

The small bit is a measuring container meaning you can accurately make up batches.

Great success. Several hours later I still have a clear solution!

Bring on the PH strips then I'm good to go.

Checked this morning and it's still totally clear so I reckon I'm good to go.

Hopefully the ph strips are waiting for me in the house when I get home.

you didn't buy the bottled water from Tesco's or Asda did you ???

ANother wee update. My ph strips finally arrived and I've measured my test bottles.

Every one of them (tap, bottled and Ashbeck) appear usable even though some are cloudy and some are clear?!

It may be that the minerals in your tap water (or something) are making it cloudy, then. My understanding is that it always goes cloudy if its getting too un-acidic, but in a few cases there are some things that can make it cloudy otherwise. If you think your PH readings are correct then this may be good news, though of course its harder to be confident.

Cheers

Will just stick to ashbeck to be honest. The ph strip is a lot more red for that one so it obviously the best.

Price is decent too.
