Stalled brew

Looks like my first batch of lager has stalled - The kit was missing the yeast so i used some i found in the cupboard.
Looking at the tub it says best before 2006 lol Guess yeast doesnt keep forever.

I guess i just need to get some fresh yeast and throw it in - or should i make a starter???

yes that probably isn't viable yeast now.

A nice sprinkling of fresh yeast and it's frothing away nicely :)
