Don't tell anyone, but Ross at Craftbrewer has some interesting new varieties in.

Went to have a look (first mistake) should have been strong and resited the hop temtations :shock: but gave in and ordered some Pacific gem and some Rakau Hops liked the sound of these passionfruit/peach flavours I can feel a nice summery IPA about to get brewed :party:

Yep, I grabbed some of those as well. Also Saphire - never heard of them so I thought I'd give them a try.

Few others as well. Chinook, Galaxy and Simcoe.

For the price you might as well its not much to loose if you don't like em but saying that I have not found a hop yet that I don't like :grin:

I actually live just North of Brisbane and I envy you guys because you don't actually have the misfortune to physically walk into the CraftBrewer store. They should have letters of flame over the doors "Abandon all dough ye who enter here" The online store is only a fraction of what they keep in stock, I usually walk out with a few extra WYeast packs, sets of Boddingtons Pint glasses, yet more shrinks of hops to add to my hop hoard..............

Those New Zealand hops are sensational. A brilliant one for bittering is Green Bullet, which is the predominant hop of Steinlager if you want to sample it. Another one I love with a passion is BSaaz which is nothing like Euro Saaz, it's more like an American citrussy hop and goes great in American Pale and Amber ales.

Also if, in a moment of madness, you decide to do a genuine version of Fosters like it was imported up till they started brewing the watered down one in the UK in the old Courage days, then Pride of Ringwood hops are a must and very nice hop when they are fresh.. a slight hint of caraway seed that used to distinguish Fosters.

Green Bullet is also excellent for Ales. I do Green Bullet Best which is an absolutely great beer. Pacific Gem is another great hop i use a lot. NZ Cascade is mighty fine too.

Don't buy Steinlager to see what green bullet is like. It tastes like **** Kiwi lager. Buy some GB and use them, you'll love em. Pride of ringwood is good as an aroma hop in Ales too.

Ross' shop is absolutely awesome. Its great to go in and pick up a sack of grain spend 30min deciding which hops you will buy even though you changed your mind ten times because of variety....lets not get started on yeast choice, it ones head in. Bloody hard to walk out of the shop without grabbin one of those Stainless Conicles though. And the guys that work there are also bloody helpful and work hard to empty ya wallet before ya go.

Ross is very cheap for delivery of hops

It's no worse than H&G, etc. Very good I think.

Still waiting for mine to turn up though. I'm blaming customs.

It cost me £4.12 for two packs of hops and took a week to arrive so it works out cheaper than buying hops in most of the UK suppliers plus they have hops that are hard to find over here :grin:
