Sorry but maybe a newbie question but, what is different from a 60 minute and a 90 minute boil? And don't say time!!!! Haha

Can I ask what volume your boiler is? I've only considered electric boilers so far for ~23l brews as I didn't think my kitchen hob would be up to it and I don't want to brew outside.

Cooling the wort outside didn't take long today ( I felt like Captain Oates.)

My boiler has 33 litre capacity, apparently. My total pre boil was about 27/28 litres today and I have 22litres in the bucket now all is said and done. Hope that helps! For what it's worth I'll be brewing outside in a couple of paycheck's time as I like the idea of pulling up a camping chair and reading while boiling away.

Is it just a normal single ring you boil on? How long does it take to get up to the boil roughly?

Hi where did you pick up your stock pot from? And did it come with the ball valve already installed?

Here you go. I know you can get it cheaper elsewhere if you DIY but I felt that the Malt Miller do such a good job that I wanted the quality assurance (and, eleven/twelve brews in, it's still going strong.)

33litres allows me to do a full 23 litre brew though it depends on the style of the beer (the stronger it is the less space I have in my MT.)

I've got the same pot.

Btw I'd advise against brewing outdoors proper, if there's the slightest breeze a gas burner will struggle to get that volume to boil. I spent 45 minutes sitting in the garden watching water simmer til I moved into the shed and it was away in no time.

I've used gas burners for melting solid veg oil outside and I cut the top and bottom off a 45 gal drum and cut it in half so I had a tube of half a drum and then stand that over the burner and pot as a wind break.
