So, three brews on the trot have done this. A Brewferm Grand Cru, a Coopers APA and a Woodfordes Wherry (tweaked.)
All very different beers, but behaving in the same way. Basically, they were getting down to a point where they looked like they were stuck, even showing constant hydrometer readings for three days (at about two weeks.)
Being the patient kind of guy I am, I left them. No stirring, just hydrometer checks. At about 2.5 weeks they all kicked into life, went off on one and got down to their recommend FG.
Nothing out of the ordinary my end (temp around 20 degrees, kept in the dark etc), but I did find it odd that they all appeared to get stuck, when in reality the yeast seemed to be having a bit of a holiday before finishing their work.
I guess the moral of the story is, be patient! :)
