Hi folks, just wondering if anyone has ever used glycol in a Speidel fermenter jacket with the chiller they provide?
We had been running it with DI water and it worked fine but when we tried to do a lager it struggled to stay at the lower temperature, especially on warmer days. We tried it with 40% glycol but saw that the return flow back to the chiller was quite weak - more of a trickle (N.B. the flow into the jacket seemed the same as with DI water).
Just wondering if anyone else had tried this and what the outcome was, or if there are any ideas? Has anyone used a lower % of glycol? Maybe a stronger pump would work?
Thanks in advance
